Fly fishing Trouts and Salmon Neuquén Is located in the North west of Argentine Patagonia . The Andes Mountains lie to the west, with mountain rivers, lakes, pines and Araucaria forests. The east part is a desert plain with very low rains during the year. Neuquén Capital is the main town, is 1147 Km. (713 miles) far from Buenos Aires. Incredible fly fishing in Neuquén and Chubut, of Hefty Rainbow, Brook and Brown Trout, Landlocked Salmon, and Chinook Salmon.	Neuquén Province
The principal lakes are: Huechulafquen, Paimun, Epulafquen, Curruhé Grande, Curruhé Chico, Tromen, Escondido, Puelo and Vintter. The rivers are Chimehuin, Aluminé, Collón Curá, Catán Lil, Malleo, Quilquihue, Caleufu. We also fish in Chubut for Big Browns and have programs for Palena and Martin Lake in Chile Republic.

Argentina Fly fishing Trout and Salmon Surrounding Mountains in the Neuquen fishing area

In winter the temperature in the mountains (west) is between 5°C and 12°C (41°f and 53°f), and the annual rain is around 1000 mm. (40 inches). Moving to the East is dry and cold with annual rain of 150 to 300mm. (6 to 15 inches).

The fishing is made in spring, summer, and autumn with warm temperatures. Our fishing area is located around Junín De Los Andes far from Buenos Aires 1640 KM (1000 miles)

The Fishing:

Fishing in the province of Neuquén is made mainly in the one west part near the foot hills of the Andes, there rivers and lakes are plenty of Trout, Rainbow, Brown, Brooke and Lake. And in smaller amount Land Locket Salmon, Pacific Chinook etc.

The favourite way of fishing is fly cast, the angler can try many techniques suggested by AA guides, all of them old anglers who knows all the corners of the rivers where the "big ones" that year after year eludes the fishermen hook.

Many places in Argentina are well known by sportsmen around the world, but none of them has the lure of the Patagonian zone of Junin de los Andes and it's famous Chimehuin river, name that and comes to memory Joe Brooks breaking his life record in a single noon, and many others who describe the area in old sports magazines. AA offer in his fishing packs tours in the Chimehuin river where the angler will cast in it's

famous pools, all of them well known by our guides.
Many anglers want to cast right in the moment he put a feet in Patagonia from the airplane, trying his luck in the rivers and lakes.

The weather during day time is mild 25 Cº degrees, but early in the morning and when sun goes dawn 10 Cº or even less is quite common, so an extra jacket is very useful.
Another way to fish in Patagonia is trolling, AA has boats prepared for this mode, a day sailing in the Andes lakes over deep blue water surrounded by mountains trolling the lure many times deeper than 200 meters is an experience hard to forget, many very big Brown Trouts are catches in this way.

The lodging is made in our town Lodge, Cabins, hotels or in lodges prepared for the anglers with all the comfort single or double rooms with private bath.

The meals as usual in Argentine Adventure are first rate and the beverages soft drinks beer wine and liquors are free during the fishing tour.

Typical 6 Days, 5 Nights, 4 Fishing Days packages:

• Day 1: Buenos Aires Airport Reception - Transport to Domestic Airport - San Martín De Los Andes Airport Reception - Transport to the Lodge, (our Fishermen House in the town, Cabins or Hotel (upon requirement).

• Day 2 to day 5: Full Breakfast in early morning - Fish - Lunch in the field or Farm House, (Asado, Barbecue) - The Fishermen have the option, to take a nap. - Fish the afternoon until the sunset - Dinner at Lodge.

• Day 6: Transport to San Martín De Los Andes Airport -Reception in Buenos Aires Airport.

Depending on the schedules of flight, and desires of the clients, the program can be shortened, in a day or have one more Fishing Day.

This is an excellent program to make a combination with a Red Stag Hunt in the same area (March and April).
